Let’s Get Started
Welcome to my first post! I’m really making this up as I go along, so who knows what I might end up talking about. I definitely don’t, but I can tell you it’ll be a mix of me going on and on about the culture, things I saw, food I ate, people I met, and conversations I had with them, books I read, small wins from the day, and challenges I faced. You know all the fun things that come with traveling.
While I’m moving around, I have a goal of reading at least two books per country. One about the country itself and another by an author from the country, so I’ll try and remember to share these. I should have plenty of time when I’m on my fifth eight-hour bus in the country to cover some pages here and there. I’ll also try to hit places that aren’t the first ones you find on all the travel websites and really see and experience things outside of the usual. After living rurally in the country and finding so many hidden gems, I can’t even begin to imagine all the places I’d miss if I stuck to the travel guides.
If you want to follow along, the loose travel plan will be Zambia > Malawi > Mozambique > Tanzania > Rwanda > Kenya > Ethiopia > Egypt, but things might get changed, and I can’t say when I’ll be somewhere for sure. I’m just going with the flow and seeing where the bus takes me. Until then, I can’t wait to show you where I end up next.
If you think of anything else I should chit-chat about, shoot me a text, email, carrier pigeon, whatever to this link. I doubt that I’ll run out of topics, but it won’t hurt. I’ve got no idea how much or how regularly I’ll post, but hopefully at least every week or two I’ll have something new up. I’ll be at the whim of the Wi-Fi. I will have plenty of pictures to add, and I hope they’ll look half as cool as when I saw them.
Book that’s currently distracting me from writing my next blog post: Sapiens x Yuval Noah Harari
Song that is probably getting played way too many times: LET ME GO x BLK ODYSSY, Grace Sorensen
